Biography

Shaykh Mehmet Adil al-Haqqani al-Qubrusi was born in 1957 in Lefke, Cyprus, the son of Shaykh Nazim al-Haqqani. Raised in the dergah of his father, he received his spiritual training directly under the guidance of Grandshaykh Abdullah al-Fa'iz ad-Daghestani and subsequently his father, Shaykh Nazim, from whom he received the authorisation (*ijaza*) to guide seekers on the Naqshbandi-Haqqani path.

Upon the passing of Shaykh Nazim in May 2014, Shaykh Mehmet Adil was designated as the forty-second grand master of the Naqshbandi-Haqqani Order. He continues the work of his father, delivering daily discourses at the dergah in Lefke, Cyprus, and travelling widely to visit Naqshbandi communities throughout Europe, the Americas, Africa, and Asia.

Shaykh Mehmet Adil is known for his accessible and practical teaching style, grounding the classical Naqshbandi path in everyday spiritual practice. His discourses emphasise the importance of following the Prophet's example, maintaining the daily prayers, and attending the suhba — the gathering in the company of the righteous — as the foundation of spiritual progress.

His discourses are delivered primarily in Turkish and translated into English and other languages, reaching a global community of followers through regular gatherings and online broadcasts.
